The Garden

The Garden by Vic Zarley

The sun was beating down upon
This garden that was me
Until You came around it seems
It had no sympathy
And what was me was dying
In the desert very slow
My garden didn’t have a chance
To even try to grow

It’s growing in abundance now
And You’re the quenching rain
That washes out my sorrow
And deliver’s me from pain
And from my fertile soil
The flowers give their show
Without Your love, I’m positive
This garden wouldn’t grow

I’m wild and I’m happy
Like a child who is free
A sense of humor blossoms from
The very depths of me
And love that seems to flower
From the bottom of my soul
Comes because You tend it well
And make my garden grow
