Let My Glory Pass By
By Vic and Eva Zarley

I believe that important changes in our lives can be bookmarked by God. Many years ago I was suddenly given the words to “Let My Glory Pass By” and in it is a reference to an Isaiah verse where a seraph flew to Isaiah bearing a burning, live coal which he then touched to his lips, taking Isaiah’s iniquities and sins away. Of course only Jesus takes sins away and so that burning live coal was telling us of His coming in the distant future.

The Holiness movement which took place in the late 19th, and early 20th centuries, was especially fond of that “live coal” verse in the Bible and, AFTER writing the song, I felt supernaturally led by God to become acquainted with the Holiness movement. This song was a bookmark laid in my book of life at a time when I needed to know of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (or Sanctification)and the amazing power of the Lord that He bestows on His children when they commit to fully trust Him.

Isa 6:5 Then I said, Woe is me! For I am undone; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.
Isa 6:6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, snatched with tongs from the altar.
Isa 6:7 And he laid it on my mouth and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.

Moses said "Oh, I beseech You, God, a glimpse of You, please give"
God said "You can't see My face, son, no one sees my face and lives
But My glory shall pass by you, you may have a partial view
Stand upon this rock, so holy, let My glory make things new"

Let My glory pass by you
Let My glory pass by
Open up your eyes and then
Watch My glory pass by (twice)

(at end only) There is no need to fear now
There is no need to fear
Open up your eyes and then
Watch My glory come near

Gideon was quite alarmed by fire coming from the staff
Of Jehovah God directly, but Jehovah God just laughed

"Your offering of cake and meat has been accepted, that's for sure"
Gideon just bowed before Him and knew His glory, oh so pure (chorus)

"I'm a man of unclean lips" says the prophet, if truth be told
All of us have unclean thoughts and unclean lives, in a world so cold

God had mercy on we sinners, from the altar, a seraph flew
Giving us a live, hot coal that made our lives as good as new (chorus)

God's great Hand snatched from that altar, His live coal, His son, for us
He sent Him forth to share His ember so we'd know, in God we trust

God's Son gave His life to save you, in your heart, He'll reign supreme
All God's glory passed before you. This is all that God's asking…(chorus)
